Easy Tool Nest Practical Guides
This page helps you decide which tool to use and in what order. Choosing the right operation first can save time and avoid unnecessary quality loss from repeated conversions.
Large image: compress first or resize first?
If the destination limits pixel dimensions, for example 1200×800, start with Image Resizer. If the dimensions are already correct but the MB size is too large, use Image Compressor. For web photos, resizing to the actual display size before moderate compression is often practical.
If a service does not accept the current format, use Image Format Converter last. Do not convert to JPG when transparency must be preserved.
Document photo: scanner, Images to PDF, or PDF Merge?
Document Scanner improves a photographed page for a scan-like result. Images to PDF organizes one or more images as PDF pages. If you already have several PDFs, PDF Merge combines them into one file.
Use PDF Split when only selected pages are needed. These utilities do not perform OCR, so photographed text does not become editable text automatically.
When should you use JPG, PNG, or WebP?
- JPG: good for photos when transparency is not required and broad compatibility matters.
- PNG: useful for screenshots, icons, sharp text edges, and transparency, but files can be larger.
- WebP: commonly useful on the web and often balances image quality with smaller size.
Changing format cannot restore detail that was already lost in a blurry or heavily compressed source.
Combining the text tools
For messy text copied from a web page or PDF, start with Text Cleaner, then use Character Count to check length. Use Case Converter to normalize English capitalization. For Chinese, English, or Japanese translation, use Online Translator and review important results manually.
Privacy: which tools send content to the cloud?
Most image, PDF, character-count, case-conversion, text-cleaning, and password-generation functions are designed to work mainly in the browser. Online translation and speech recognition need to send text or recordings that you deliberately submit to Cloudflare Workers AI. Avoid unnecessary passwords, payment data, identity numbers, or other sensitive information.
